The Comprehensive Coaching Approach
In collaboration with MNU-Certified Nutritionist Shannon Beer, LLB, I have developed an integrative coaching framework that applies motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral coaching, and acceptance and commitment therapy-aligned processes in a client-centered alliance toward their own values-based goals. It emerged after years of experience, education, and consulting with psychologists to learn more about how to help people make lasting change. It has also been influenced by our work on the Bridging the Gap series of articles which examine the social, historical, and political influences that shape the health, wellness, diet, and fitness industries. This Comprehensive Coaching framework is an evidence-based approach that facilitates long-term behavior change and flourishing health in clients from all walks of life.
The Comprehensive Coaching approach embodies an attitude that fosters mutual trust and understanding between us, creating a safe space for collaboration. Together, we identify your values and internal sources of motivation to strengthen your commitment to change. When you face obstacles--expected or unexpected--we will work as a team to find a solution that works best for your unique circumstances. Your insights, experiences, and expertise on your own life make my role as a guide possible. My expertise is a resource for your journey of change. Together, we work toward a more fulfilling, authentic life. The sciences of nutrition and psychology--fortified with compassion--will provide you with a greater capacity to meet your goals.
